We just survived an amazing hailstorm. Usually the ones around here last for a minute or so. This one lasted half an hour. By the end, the ground was covered to a depth of half an inch. At home, huge piles gathered at the corners of the house, where they had bounced down the valleys of the roof. At the office, ice plugged up the drain in front of the garage, backing up water into the utility room. Another half hour of sweeping was required to clean that up. Now, the temperature has dropped twenty degrees from 60 to 42, and there is still a significant amount of hail. After calling around, it appears that this did not occur anywhere else in the county.
